manifold to turbo gasket..?

Should there be a gasket between the manifold & turbo on a 156 20v.?
Been getting fumes in the cabin lately, since the oil change was done, done a bit of research
on here and it seems the manifold had to be dropped down to get to the oil filter (it did), and
the turbo/manifold joint is a bit of a pig to line up properly, hence the fumes escaping.
Just been out and loosened it all off and re-aligned it back up properly (hopefully..), but am
wondering if there should be a gasket in there somewhere, doesnt seem like an airtight joint.
