How to change JTS Coil Pack and Sparkplugs
Hello. As thread title suggests, is this a easy job? I have never done anything like this before but recently spent a bloody fortune on my alfa gt 2.0jts and cannot afford to pay labour costs anymore!
I think my engine is misfiring so am thinking about replacing all 4 coil packs and also 4 new platinum spark plugs. Is this something i can do at home?
I work in a office and am very untechnical. I cannot find a thread which explains how to do this. I may only have 1 faulty coil pack but unsure how to diagnose each one so was going to just change them all!
I dont have a ECU reader so unsure if i have any fault codes BUT i have a lumpy/juddery idle, which judders the car a little and the engine at idle changes tones very slightly and also the rev counter fluxtuates between 800-850rpm, there is no rhythm to it, its random. I dont have or have never seen the engine management light on.
I have never had a 2.0JTS engine before but i just get the feeling something isnt right. Just had new cambelt, variator and pump changed with all other belts by a local alfa dealer who found oil in the sparkplug wells but cleaned it all up and re-used sparkplugs as they were only 1 year old or so and in good condition.
Thanks for help in advance.
PS Car is GT 2.0JTS 06 Plate with 56k miles on. Full Alfa main dealer history. Getting about 22-25mpg mixed driving.
