After letter and email to dealer
expecting car to run well and have no noticeable issues as you test driven it before collection and said. During the first attempt to get to work on 23rd of April cars performance was very poor, after done only 15 miles Engine Light appeared on dashboard, couldn't use 5th and 6th gears as there was loud noise ( guessing clutch is failing ) and no performance at all - speed just dived and all could be done was cancel travel to work and get car as close as possible to home. Car was left for you on 25th to sort the problem with infocentre as it didn't save/show any values after your repairs ( fuel consumption/ date/ time and etc.) and the following performance problems. After receiving your call on 25th afternoon that car is ready, test driven and free of issues it was collected again.
26th of April car has engine light on again, when driving 5th gear same loud noise started, car performance low, Infocenter not showing consumption or any other values, suspension makes noises, driveability poor, when releasing steering wheel car slightly drives to the side, at traffic lights after selecting 2nd gear car engine stalled. After starting car it had performance power again for about 3miles, then same problems again - no problems solved at all, just more and more issues. Car have covered 64 miles since day of collection and all these problems are not the end: Car system shows P0116 and P1238 errors codes when connected to computer too. I have stopped using the car and consider it is not satisfactory condition/faulty/not as described/not safe. Also i doubt that car MOT was done at reliable place and meets VOSA requirements.
and i got reply message today that he will check egr valve.. on 25th i asked him if he checked egr valve as it might have been the issue. now i doubt dealer will do the things right - i think he and his mechanic are incompetent to do the full diagnosis and carry out reliable works. should i demand to get it sorted at other independent garage like one is around which does repairs for alfas and lancias for 20+ years. also is it possible as now i have registration doc to go for repeatable MOT and how fast could i go as i do believe it might have been done without doing any tests, just give money, write papers and bye.. then sell car like that by "reliable dealer whos in business for 20 years and meets trading standards". i checked MOT requirements and i think it doesnt meet like 5+ minimum ! i dont have MOT papers now as all documents at dealer cause hes trying to sort things out.. but i think i saw that mot done on march at some local garage probably at dealers friends.
Hi,thankyou for your e mail and letter.we are sorry that you are not happy with the car and we will now arrange with you to have it in for a new egr valve and to put right the fault with the info centre.Whilst this work is being carried out,if you need to use a vehicle we will be able to arrange that as well, providing you have the minimum third party insurance cover.Again ,as for the mot test ,we understand your concerns, but as we are not an mot station we cannot comment on that particular subject, other than to say that we will look carefully at any item you think requires attention, and report to you accordingly. Looking at our diary,Wednesday may 2nd would be ok and we will keep the car for probably three days to thoroughly check the new parts are ok,lety me know if this is ok .
