Thermostat Stuck Open - possible claim with Car Protect warranty cover?
I have recently taken ownership of a 2003 1.8 TS, which I drove for the first time on the motorways yesterday. after driving about 3 miles, I was surprised to see the engine temp was 55 deg.C! It got to 90 deg.C when I got caught in traffic, but for most of the journey is was reading between 55 and 70 deg.C.
Have read a number of the threads on here, I am suspecting that my thermostat is stuck open.
When I bought the car, it came with a 3 month 'Silver' customer protect warranty. Firstly, it says that the thermostat is covered, so I am keen to get the car sorted before the 3-months is up.
However, I have a few questions:
1) Does anyone have any experience of claiming with Customer Protect?
2) Is there anything that could possible exclude the thermostat (ie hidden sub clause?)
3) Where can I find a list of garages that will accept work under CP?
4) Is there anything else that I should know or consider?
