156 2.0 JTS cam belt change
Been a busy day, absolutely shattered and job incomplete.
Front discs and pad replaced - fluid flushed.
Water pump and thermostat replaced, coolant flushed (-ish).
Variator and bearing shells replaced. Intake cam showed no signs of excessive or uneven wear (120000 Kim on Selenia racing - happy). Cam shaft seals replaced.
Going well. All tensioners and pulleys replaced.
Now comes the problem - tensioning the timing belt. I have the tool and several versions of the instructions but am buggered if anything makes sense. I have no idea how rotating the tensioning tool moves the indicator to the hole that indicates correct tension. The tensioning tool moves the pulley along the guide but the indicator stays put at about 5 O'clock.
Can somebody tell me how to do it.
