Grinding Noise Under acceleration
Hi all, I am new to this forum, have been nosying about on it for a while but thought I'd bite the bullet and join...
Have got a 2002 156 1.6 T spark Veloce, and am currently getting a grinding noise coming from under the bonnet when driving.
No noise when cars at idle, or below around 1,500 - 1,800 revs. Noise is like a metal grinding noise, only occurs when accerlating, or holding revs, and only in 1st to 3rd. Once upto speed, or above about 4,000, noise disapears. Sounds like it's coming from the right hand side of the engine bay but not 100%.
Car's had a fair bit of work done to it in the past 2 months, I've changed, the clutch, gearbox, master and slave cylinders, oil sump, and lambda sensor. Currently on 55 thousand, timing belt was changed at 44,000, however the reciept I've got doesn't say if the tensioner bearings were replaced.
There's also a knocking noise coming from the front right, possibly related, disapears when there's a load going through the car, e.g. accelerating or breaking hard - guessing this may potentially be a driveshaft? Have repalced the drop link on the anti roll bar a few months back also, and doesn't sound like an anti - roll bar knocking.
Any responses greatly appreciated,
