Hi I bought my 147 a few weeks ago and I'm now on the cusp of a decision, to keep the 147 or to borrow a few grand and buy a GT or 159.
My 147 has 80k on the clock. It's a 2004 JTD m-jet, lusso. Cloth seats. When I bought it I paid £1350, and since then spent £250 on fault rectification and the same again on paint and body repair. I serviced it as well, another £150. The guy I bought it from said the belt / pump was done at 60k and there is a wee sticker on the window saying its due again at 100k / Jan 13. I don't trust that so I'm pretty much decided that if it stays the belt / pump need doing. What I am left with is a 147 with a very tired / smokers interior. The drivers footwell carpet has 4 significant holes, the door cards are manky and the upholstery is cloth. So, my plan if it stays would be to get it in to a garage to get the belt done, but also to source a whole interior including carpet and ask for a quote to install it.
The alternative is to trade it in against a 2006 GT with 42k, belt changed, serviced and warranted for 1 year for £6995, with my Alfa getting £1750. The GT is lovely, but lacks parking sensors, and when I see cars like GT05's on here for £4900 I think the dealer GT must be well overpriced.
Have any of you any idea what it's likely to cost to get and have installed (by an Alfa indie) a replacement (used) interior.
Also, what would you do regarding the do it up / trade it conundrum. Apart from looking tired, my wee 147 drives great. Wife wants rid
