hi sorry for the delay, it was called Drivetec, I've not read any reviews or googled it, gonna try that now!
it was about £13 for 5l, whereas selenia was A LOT more for 2l... I forget.
I use 10w40, my car is a 1.6 TS, 2002 with 65k-ish miles on the clock now.
something to remember is I stick to service schedules, even having oil changes early if the cam is due etc.
I think as long as the grade is ok you should be fine by sticking to time. the first year I ran selenia the engine sounded out of tune exactly 1yr after the first service, once changed it sounded sweet as a nut again. these days it always sounds ok but it does feel nicer after a service, must be the oil/air fiters make a real diff when clear/new
