Back behind the wheel of a 156 Sportwagon
Despite my name, we no longer have two Alfa 33's, my sons sold them a few years ago. Just bought a blue 2001 model Series 1, 156 Sportwagon 2.0 Selespeed with only 54000kms. We used to have a silver 2000 year model that we traded in for a 159 in 2005, so its some time since I drove a 156. The 159 was sold two years ago and I was missing the responsivness of the 156. It is black leather inside. First job I did yesterday was clean up the black gunk on the centre surround of the Selespeed gear stick. I am missing the rear cargo blind for which I will have to go on a search in the marketplace, but aprt from that it is a beauty. It had the timing belt changed 5 years ago at 29000 kms but I will change it again for insurance. Very happy with it so far
. Fingers crossed Selespeed behaves it self. Wondering if the selespeed hydraulic oil should be changed. Any advice on this or any other aspects of 156 ownership will be appreaciated.
