Re: Advice needed re new 147
Firstly, on the 147. You do not have to lift off the gas when changing gear. Just flip the levers on the wheel or nudge the gearstick and you've changed gear. You leave your gas foot alone. My 147 now 18 Months old had the Selspeed actuator replaced at the frist service without me even knowing there was a potential problem. But they said it needed replacing and did it under warranty.
There have been other teething problems, but I am still happy with my choice.
There are times I wish I had a clutch again when in traffic on hills and in other situations, but for me, not having a clutch in traffic is worth going for Selespeed alone. It also gives a great feeling you when changing at tops revs. Nice and quick. I have been told that an Autodelta remap transforms the Selespeed system even better than it comes out of the factory, as they have tinkered with the gear changes as part of the remap service. Can't wait to have it done but want to wait untill the first two years of the warranty have expired.
