Alfa 1.6 LPG error codes P1177 & P1178
I drive an 147 1.6 ts `05 with lpg third generation fitted on it for about a year.
About a month ago i got an "engine control module failure light" on. i downloaded the fiatECU scan software and bought an obdII cable(ebay). Plugged it in and got error codes: P1177 and P1178. i bought a MAF (ebay) didnt solve anything. I tried working the engine on petrol the light (engine control module failure light) wouldn`t come on, (did about 160 km), but on LPG after 50-60km it would turn on. I excluded therefore the problem lying with the cam belt (syncronisation) and thought more of the oxygen sensors, and quality of the LPG. I took it to an alfa service and they found the oxygen sensors out of range only while running lpg. Had the lpg ecu reset yesterday, i got the light on briefly @ 65km but it didnt stay on therefore no error code stored.
Has anyone got any knowledge of this? Happened to anyone? Is it possible that the cars ecu learns, and at some point aknowledges, what was once normal as a fault?
Any help would be appreciated
