GTV needs fixing - have a 156 to break and give away

I'm an Alfa enthusiast, but not up to doing any serious work on the cars. I have a job needing doing, don't think I can trust any of my local mechanics to do it, could be a job for a real Alfa enthusiast....

I have a 1999 GTV 2.0 which a while ago started getting the ABS warning light on. Shortly afterwards the brakes went a bit spongy. I took it to my local Alfa sepcialist who said that the Break Master Cylinder needed replacing (they had warned about this about six months previously) and that it almost definitely needed the ABS replacing. However to find out whether the ABS needed replacing would require fixing the Break Master Cylinder, and to test it afterwards four new tires (tires are worn down). Real borderline whether it was worth taking the chance as all it may lead to would be a bill for £2k to replace the ABS.

I also have 2000 156 2.0 which was working fine apart from that when it reaches 4000 revs it wonít rev any higher. Then the 156 cut out and wouldnít restart it was checked by AA who said that there was a problem with the electricity getting to the fuel injectors. This cut out has only happened once, and I have driven the car since, but as it could recur any time I canít really use it without fixing. There are no other problems with the 156 apart from a dent in the rear o/s bumper.

I love the GTV and want to keep it, so am thinking of using the parts from the 156 to repair the GTV. If anyone wants to do the work, once you get the GTV working (except tires, Iíll replace those), ie sort out the Brake Master Cylinder and the ABS, then you can have the 156 that would have been partially broken to do this.

Iím in Twickenham, both cars are mobile, the 156 can be safely driven, the GTV is movable but canít be driven for more than a few metres. Let me know if youíd like to do it, or if itís even possible!

The master cylinder is easily replaced once you get to it, its just that you have to remove the inlet manifold to get at it, id like to help you out fella but you are too far away from me though.
