Small update: even when the low rev missing power prob is not completely gone, 2 days after the new manifold was fitted , the car is way way better ...what happened ?
I just trashed it, ... on the high way and then some more , I was expecting to blow up in peces .. but it seems that she liked it .
... no error codes no limp mode, better MPG and between 2200/2500/3500 it fells very good !
and the warp thrust effect is there if do the gear changes late enough to hit the next gear between the power zone.
as the ECU was reset after I think it could be learning new values, the right ones. (im still not buying this argument 100% though )
To sum it up, IMMO the Variable Turbo / Emission control system it is far too complex , and I don't think its designed to hold a proper variation in its tune state, error correction and fault tolerance due to wear and tear of the components ? Forget it !
And the software its at least very buggy ... and NOT informative.
The whole picture together looks to me like Selespeed territory , unknown to the man ! alien technology reversed engineered ?
While crossing finger and touching wood I'll say that the engine it self seems to be quite strong and able to run like a sick dog for miles !
BTW when it drives well , I still love it !
and will keep holding the entire office jokes about my fallen alfa until my wallet dyes of starvation
