I use michelins purely for the high milage you get out of them.
Lets face it, high milage and good grip are difficult to get in the same tyre but Michelin are OK.
I get about 30K miles from a set which include swapping from front to back to even the wear out. I`m VERY surprised you get that much from your continentals ( do you mean kilometeres or miles?).
I have used;
pilot primacy - good wear, rubbish grip, like driving on metal. Lethal in the wet with my V6.
pilot sport - pretty good but can`t get the V pattern directionals any more and haven`t tried the new style yet.
Exalto - Very good, better than even the pilot sport although I had afew balancing problems with them and have had to get them balanced again after 10K miles.
I reckon i`ll try the new pilot sports if I get a good deal, but the exalto fits my long motorway driving with the occasional fit of mad back-road driving.
I have also tried avon zz3 which were grippy but wore away to quickly - I got them cheap so no big loss. I tried pirelli pZeros which were just fantastic and i would love to be able to have them all the time. Trouble is they lasted 8K on the front
and cost too much as well.
Lots of people don`t like michelins but for high-miler drivers they are a good deak IMO.
