Power issue, help. FIXED
I have had an issue recently on my 07 1.9 JDTM GT, where if the car is cold and you go for a drive, after first setting off then slowing or stopping ( at lights etc ) there is no power on pressing the accelerator. you can overcome this by dropping the clutch and revving, then pulling away slowly. after this one occurrence the problem wont occur again, BUT there is a definite lack of power below 2000 revs.
I have done my research and intend to clean the EGR valve. But in testing posible causes I have disconnected the MAF sensor and took a very short drive. This displayed "Motor Control System Failure" on start up and the car was lacking in power at all revs. So I reconnected the MAF Sensor. but still received "Motor Control System Failure", ( before disconnecting it i had never had the warning ) HOWEVER the lack of power problem seem to have gone away!!! and the car seems to be performing correctly. BUT i still have the warning.
I have disconnected the battery and intend to do a ECU reset in an hour.
But my questions to you good folk are:
A: how can I reset the warning, should it go away automatically now i have reconnected the MAF sensor / after the reset.
B: Should i clean the ERG?
C: is it likely to be a MAF sensor issue ( it was replaced n Sep last year at Alfa tune )
Thanks for your responses
How about I get you a spoon, so you can eat my A*s!
