JTS sometimes won't start (solved)
I am having trouble figuring out what is going on with my car.
Sometimes I turn the key and it cranks but does not attempt to fire (no fuel is being injected), sometimes it will start second time.
Today I had to put it in first to rotate the crank shaft (pushed the car back and forth with the ignition off) after which it started first time.
To my dismay no error codes are stored.
I think I have eliminated the fuel pump and relay as the JTS started with the pump off (pulled out relay), I suppose this is probably be due to residual pressure and the high pressure pump.
Could it be my crank or cam position sensor, if so why don't I get a code???
I know the principle behind some rotary encoders, so I assume the crank has a notched disk on it which leads me to my next question: if there is a notched disk can it cause similar problems.
