'has been a while since last time I've posted. Work & family have taken me away from fiddling with the car, but few things have changed. It eventually became worst...
Car is 156 SW 2.0 JTS from 2004.
After changing the MAF, cleaning connectors everywhere within the engine bay, thermostat, I still have mixture errors on the OBDII :
P1175 : Mixture 2 strength (multiplicative)
P1172 : Mixture 1 strength (multiplicative)
Where do I need to look ? Lambdas are quite expensive, so how can I test them with FIATEcuSan and try to identify any culprit ?
Plus, car has now developed a rattling/ticking sound that seems to come from the cat converter region : video with sound here
I've checked and can't see any crack on the heatshield or loose bolt. Could it be the cat's honey comb structure rattling ?
Car drives OK, idle is rough, when accelerating, engine has some hesitation around 2500 rpm and 4500 rpm. Not mentionning the front suspension's noise
I would love having the car fixed, but sometimes I do think I should get rid of it... Since I've bought it about 9 months ago, I only had about 2 weeks of real fun, before all these problems have started.
I'm no mechanic, and unfortunately I leave in an area where the Alfa dealers do deserve the "stealers" nickname... And when I go to an indie, I can see it is the first time they see a 156 JTS, so I just run away
I'd be grateful for any help provided. Cheers !
