Much to my horror i got a *that dreaded* phone call today from my indepedent mechanic saying that the starting issue with my Alfenia is ECU related.
He referred to her as THE ***** won't start.... oh that hurt !!!!
He is swapping an ECU form another 2.0L into it on a temporary basis to see if that cures the problem.
During the past 2 weeks he has replaced the crank sensor, Feb 21st & flywheel/rpm sensor, today March 2nd. The temp sensor has been verified as OK by a Fiat garage, Feb 24th.
's is all that is rolling around in my head..... how many of 's will it take to buy an ECU suitable for 2.0L T-Spark?
In order to have *some* knowledge, to avoid been screwed over, I called my local Fiat/Alfa garage. they told me that an ECU for a Punto would cost 400, not much of a bench-mark is it?
They are to call me back within the next hour with a *proper* price
I had to give them the chassis number..... not sure why
On the bright side, I'm sure that when its all sorted Alfenia will be an *animal/beast/black-bomb* to go
.... could be worse........ could be *something* wrong with me, my wife or one of the kids........... a car is repairable
