crank bearing.. how to change it..
finally after a couple of months i was able to start working on my 156 2.0 TS
changed the cranksensor, spark plugs and battery.. and bingo.. it started!
i heard a loud pinking noise as soon i started it..
so i friend of mine who is mechanic told me a trick..
take of the spark plugs, crank the engine round for each cylinder so it first goes up and the
then take a small wooden stick and try to push down the piston..
if i could to that then either the piston bolt bearing or the crank shaft bearing
was broken or missing..
1 then 2 and 3 cylinder fine.. the 4´th "the one nearest to the battery .. clong..!
it dropped around 4 mm..!
so now i have decide to take off the oil pan and just change that bearing..
i know is not the best thing to do.. but i really dont want to spend a lot of money at the moment on the car..
so ill like to know if i can get to the crank so i can fit new bearings by removing the oil pan in place without lifting the engine from the car..
