Tired of this... It seems that some people just cant grasp the reasons how something with less power (or torque) can possibly beat a higher output type of car
It's simple... The more power/torque you put into a modern car, the more weight of components and electronics you need to keep it reigned in... Drivers are idiots... Computers aren't and will interfere until they deem it's safe to let it all be used...
Something that an older Alfa never had, never needed and let the driver use ALL of the usable yet "limited in comparison" power exactly when they demand it.
That's why it never surprises me when I see posts that start with "I kept up with a...."
Of course its possible... An alfa has ALL the characteristics that are required to make a "quick" car, not just some of them. It's good but not brilliant in ALL those departments, it has no real vices!
205 GTi 1.9 or a BMW 330D down Kirkstone Pass? I'll take bets on that.
BMW 330D or a 205 GTi 1.9 on the M1? I know what would win there too!
It's that simple, not rocket science... Why do some make it so complicated!
So when you look at an Alfa it has the best of both worlds, not just one...
You did buy an alfa after all, after a test what made you decide?
It was something you couldn't define...?
Easy, it does all things well and uses everything it's got when you want it to!
