Ok for people who want a compression as I made a mistake thinking the 330i was a 330d
330d m sport 241bhp and 384lb\ft 40-60 in 4th then 5th
3.9 - 5.4
156 20v in the wet
4.0 - 5.8
To add to that the 325i SE touring does 40-60 in 4th (so you can compare to the 156 20v in 5th which should give a good comparisson as was said by someone earlier means the petrol and diesel would be giving rpm on their torque/power curves that is a better way to compare...
325i SE 40-60 in 4th...... 7.1 seconds
335i SE 40-60 in 4th...... 4.1 seconds
not got figures for 330i yet but if alfa is 5.8 in 5th looking at two above there can't be much difference.
Here is another interesting one... not got 40-60
but 30-50 in 3rd for petrol and 4th for diesel.
Lancia Delta Integrale 30 - 50 in 3rd........ 4.5 seconds. 0-100mph 19.5seconds
alfa 156 20v veloce....30 - 50 in 4th........ 4.5 seconds. 0-100mph 20.4seconds
Another site called auto road tests also do all their own testing and a comprehensive suite of tests.
midrange 30-70 (no specific gear)
Ok some data for some cars is missing (but the alfa's all tested as quickest from 60-0)
I don't useually go for stats but some people on here were interested and these are real tests no manufacturers claims so should at least provide some interesting benchmarks. Ok the 20v (unchipped is showing slower than V6 but would be faster chipped than a chipped V6).
Anyway it does show the 20v is no slouch at all and for an oil burner is really quite quick for a family saloon.
