MOT Passed

Hi All,

My 147 1.6 ti 54 plate passed the m.o.t yesterday but got an advisory on the exhaust and also it says

surface corrosion on inner sills/ chassis any ideas on how to prevent the chassis and sills from corroding.

Yep. Get it undersealed. Alfa were pretty crap with underseal. I see lots of GT's with only half an underseal underneath. Shouldn't be too expensive and will save your car

Late 156's are the same. Cleaning the rust off and undersealing is a filthy horrible job but as Joss says, will save the car from lots of welding in a couple of years.

scrape off the loose underseal, rub down any loose rust, paint with Hammerite, and while the Hammerite is still tacky, go over with spray on underseal. Lasts for years.

Pay special attention to the cut out drain holes and floor joints as they will go first.

POR 15 is much better than hammerite.
