Thumbs Up big thanks to Rarebear

i have been fighting with my 156 and connecting to the engine ecu for months, i think ive read every thread on it and i was about to butcher the car thinking it was an electrical fault.
i was reserved about buying another cable because ive tried others that are known to work without much luck, thought id better try it as a last ditch attempt.
spoke to rarebear and a new cable was swiftly on its way. it arrived today and i decided to start from scratch, removed everything ever to do with diag from the laptop

followed rarebears instructions that were included in my package along with alfadiag demo, went out to my car thinking this isnt going to work and what a waste of money, plugged it in and booted up FES and hey ho no luck, tried alfadiag and it worked tweaked a few settings and FES also connected (forgot to do something with usb driver) so im a happy bunny.

3 fault codes found
Glow plug as expected cleared and hasnt come back but will see in the morning
EGR, yeah i knew that after all the problems it caused me
VNT solenoid, got ya you little fecker. had a few MCSF's that cleared instantly a few weeks ago (was raining very hard) hasnt come back since but might be on its way out

so id thought id say thanks to rarebear
the cable compared to the last one is just so much better
it feels better, it looks better and it fits a lot better!

dolf himself
i think i sent him a pm at 4:30 ish pm and had good quick responses and the cable was in the post the next morning. i didnt expect a 3 page guide which was very helpful and alfadiag on a disc that saved downloading it
Top bloke
Thanks a lot!

Rarebear is a nice chap very helpfull when i had issues. He is an accomplished and respected aviator in his native land. Often issues are perplexing because of user knowledge, laptop types connection speeds etc etc. He was helpfull to me a few years ago when i knew nothing. Some may say i dont know much more now but i know a damn sight more than i did!!
