Clutch Slave Cylinder

Hi, just about to get the clutch done and was wondering if the slave cylinder is inside the bellhousing or not? 2003 156 2.4 JTD.
Also would you change the DMF as a matter of course, as it willl be accessible?

Perhaps look on top of the gearbox for the slave cylinder. The dmf is an expensive item and ive replaced clutches on jtds without the need for dmf replacement even when 130000 miles have been covered. The dmf can be checked upon gearbox removal.

Slave cylinder is (sensibly) external on the 2.4 JTDs - at least until they changed to the GM gearbox - don't know about them. You have to remove the slave cylinder to allow the release bearing fork to move back enough for the gearbox to be released from the engine.......
