GT JTD turbo failure - the saga continues

6 weeks ago my 05 GT JTD went in to the garage as it was noisy after I changed down to 2nd gear from 5th at about 70mph (honest, Officer).

Initial diagnosis was two broken rockers. On reassembly, there was also an injector fault. This was sent away for reconditioning (twice). Whilst the injector was out, an inspection of the chamber revealed a head gasket fault. Head skimmed and gasket changed (twice - now has steel gasket). Meanwhile, MOT had run out.

Yesterday, they called me in to say the turbo has failed on the way back from MOT, and the car was now dangerous to drive as the turbo is feeding oil in to the cylinders once over 3,000 revs and the car has to be stalled to stop the engine.

I'm now sourcing a second-hand or reconditioned turbo. Has anyone else experienced anything like this before? Could the garage have brought on the turbo failure?
