Sounds odd but friend claims shaving foam works wonders.

hi kev,it depends how dirty the dash is!if it is really grubby looking,a bit of washing powder in water, applied with a cloth or a brush if really bad, will clean the dash.wipe it off with a clean, damp cloth.this will leave it looking really dull when it dries,so then use something like armorall or autoglym(can't remember what the actual name of the dashboard/plastic polish one is!).i have used autoglym bumper care on dashboards, but it needs to be buffed off a lot or it goes slightly sticky and the dust sticks to it . . . . .most of the polishes leave the dash very shiny, which can be a little distracting when you can see the reflection of the dash on the windscreen!
if anyone mentions back to black(can you even still get it??)i may just give up . . . . .
hope this helps
