2.4 jtd turbo and cone filter

hi guys this has prob been asked loads and loads of times now iv had the car around 4 weeks now and it already had a cone fliter on there and have noticed that there is a U bend in the pipe going to turbo looks like it carnt be doing the turbo any good and was looking into turning the u bend and making pipe work strait is this a good way to go or not?

it wont harm the turbo......whats worst with them induction kits is they normaly suck warm air in from the engine bay not cooler air from outside, warm air = less power

I've got a pipe going straight from the turbo out to the wing (just in front of the left wheel) ... can't say that it made any noticable difference in power (but it did allow me to fit the pipe work for an FMIC) ... with it straight you can really hear the turbo though
