Is this right?
Changed my Auxiliary Belt, Idler & tensioner on weekend, so decided to take cam cover off and have a little look...
Timing belt, Tensioner & idler was changed 2 years 8 months ago to date, along with balance belt.
got it done by a local Alfa Specialist. as a precaution i asked for the old parts back to have a look at them since the old ones had been on the car for 9 years and only covered 42K miles at the time, he gave me all the belts and tensioners except the balance belt tensioner?
i am due for a timing/ Balance belt & idlers change soon (as its 2 years 8 months now) but looking at this photo i am urged to get it done sooner...
the pointer is whey up and not pointing to the reference hole, when i first saw this my A**e went like a rabbits nose...
i turned the engine over by hand a little at the crank pulley, and the belt took up slack and the pointer went straight to the reference hole. i know its self tensioning, but is this right?
Bit scared to drive it TBH...
any comments much apreciated.
