Throttle position error - enough is enough
I've had my 156 for about a year now and I'm thoroughly fed up of it. Since about August last year it has been nothing but trouble, chasing a fault that I just can't get to the bottom of.
On almost every journey, I get MCSF, and it goes into limp mode. The trouble codes are P0120 and P1120 which both relate to a mismatch between throttle pedal poision and throttle butterfly position. So far it's had: 1 salvage pedal from autolusso, 1 brand new pedal from Alfa, 1 salvage throttle body from Autolusso and 1 brand new throttle body from Alfa (the new TB at a cost of nearly £400 by the way!) and yet the problem persists.
I've tried the ECU and throttle reset procedure, i've tried changing the battery. I'm just short of tearing my hair out over this car. I'm at my wits end, if anyone has any idea what's actually wrong with it I'm all ears. If it isn't fixed by this time next week it will swiftly find it's way to a vehicle auction.
Happy Friday everyone,
