Hello, I'm a newbie (well someone's gotta be)
I'm seeking some advice after recently having a new cambelt replaced and all 16 valves replaced as 8 had been bent. Costly is an understatement, I'd not even known I needed to replace the cambelt after certain amount of miles, a lesson I've well and truly learnt.
I'm due to collect the car tomorrow, the chap has informed me it's up and running well as he'd had to strip it down replace the valves and all the work that usually is involved once your belt breaks and causes so much damage.
My concern is I'm not going to be confident in driving the car as I once was without any problems whatsoever (Oh apart from a new clutch) 3 weeks prior the cambelt incident.
Also he informs me that I may find that the car whilst driving it may drop in speed to about 30-40mph but I can still drive it around ok, also informs me that a light on the dash says camshaft sensor to which I'll need to replace, but I can drive it around until I'm able to get the funds together as already I'm near to 2 grand!!! inc the cost of the clutch.
Will driving the car around with that warning light on cause any further damage to the car and will I always have continuous probs now ongoing with this vehicle, simply cause I didn't change the cambelt. It's only done 66,000miles give or take..
Any info off anyone would be welcomed....
