Had my GT for about 4 months now and overall I love it
BUT there are a few little things that bug me and wondered if you have any advice...I'm pretty much listing most my questions here rather than seperate threads:
1) Had two passengers (blokes) in the back, total weight about 25-26 stone and when driving the rear arches were rubbing the the tyres - anybody else have this? Is it normal, or do you think the shocks/springs need checking on my car?
2) Flamin' rear rattle - it's not the boot, it's not the parcel shelf IT'S THE fold down seat latch area 60% side. Either the plastic or the latch itself makes a knocking noise when cornering or going over bumpy road. I know others have experienced this and have tried remedies with varying success but the knocking noise comes back after a few drives. Vaseline/WD40 had worked best previously - is there a practical more permanent fix? just dissapointed that a car in today's day can make such a noise.
3) Hard ride - I sort of accept this for what it is so not really problem but wondered if there was a consensus on the optimum way to improve this should I go the KONI route at a later date? KONI + standard springs + ARB? or KONI + Eibach springs and ARB?
4) Remap - My GT is already the 170BHP version of the Cloverleaf, performance is pretty good and I'm not really after loads more power as such, really looking for a bit more fuel effciency and perhaps a bit more progressive torque as currently it kicks at about 1700 rpm. I can't really deal with having 200+ BHP and then having to nurse other components. Any recommendations on where to go for such a remap? - Midlands and Wiltshire are good areas for me.
Any advice appreciated as always.
