156 throttle body reset

Can anyone give me a definitive answer to the following; as there appears to be differing views on this forum .
Does the throttle reset proceedure, as outlined on many threads in this forum ,work only for "fly by wire" set ups, or will it work for cable operated throttle bodies also.
Rgds, & Thanks,

It will and it wont....

It will help the throttle potentiometer reset and calibrate itself on a "cabled" throttle body to the position of the butterfly only, so not much
But it wont help if there is a problem with the throttle body itself and won't correlate to the position of the throttle pedal (which it does on a fly-by wire) which is usually why owners do it
