Success: 2 of 4 noises issues sorted on the GT!
This morning I decided to teach my GT a lesson by showing who was boss and not letting these irritating noises ruin my drive.
These are/were my issues:
1. Wind noise coming from driver side issue
2. Headunit surround creaking
3. Metal bar behind passenger seat rattling
4. Boot rattle
1. Wind noise coming from driver side issue - sorted
As suggested by someone before, I decided to look behind the wing mirror cover inside the door. Oddly enough, there were only 2 bolts and one suspiciously empty bolt hole. I checked the other side and there were 3 bolts. So to experiment, I removed one of the bolts from the passenger side and screwed it into empty one of the drivers side.
2. Headunit surround creaking (pic below)
This is my head unit but the plastic trim around it seems to creak a little when driving. Not all the time but very noticeable when it does. Need to work on this at some point.
3. Metal bar behind passenger seat rattling (pic below) - sorted
This metal bar on the back on the passenger seat (were it reclines) but there wasn't one on the drivers seat which lead me to think it served no purpose. One side of the bar was detached from the seat meaning the metal bar would constantly tap against the metal frame of the seat when driving. Very very annoying as you could imagine.
4. Boot rattle
Well this is something a lot of people are suffer with so self explanatory
Following the fixes I went for a drive and I can happily say that there is no more tapping from the passenger seat and the wind noise appears to have disappeared from the driver side but now appears to be on the passenger side. Next step, order a bolt or cover it the hole up using another methods - suggestions welcomed. After that, I will work on the head unit trim creak and then boot rattle. Then I can truly appreciate the car ha
Hopefully this may help others but if not, I just want to boast lol
