Hi, it's about a year since I started this thread and I'm happy to report that the cheap wishbones i bought are still going strong, but that's not everyones experience.
Of course i should point out I only do about 6000 miles a year max and (usually - when my wife and daughter are in the car anyway) drive reasonably sedately so that may have a bearing on things.
Interesting comments about treating the wishbones as service items, if you think back to the days when cars were serviced every 1000 miles and grease nipples were everywhere this type of part would have received regular attention. In todays world "fit and forget" doesn't always work out and some pro-active action is necessary. Most peope on these forums will be doing that anyway but for a lot of people cars are like washing machines - wait till it breaks and pay a fortune to get it fixed or bin it and get a new one.
