oil leak[alfa 156,1.8ts,year 2000]

I changed the alternator over the weekend, and whilst removing the inlet manifold, with a bar, trying to prise it off the inlet studs against the head,i have now damaged the top of the head. When i put the rocker cover back on and ran car i noticed oil leaking from behind the oil filler cap, taken of cover and found that the top[lip] of the head is squashed a bit,i scrapped the edge of head with a flat srewdriver to make it even and i refitted cover, and used gasket sealent, car seemed fine, and no leaks, drove about 10 miles and noticed the oil leak again from same spot.Has anyone got any ideas,as i was thinking of getting a fine file and try to smooth it out properly.
