Unknown cable under handbrake?

Just below the petrol cap release and asr button there is a strip where u can put coins, pens ect which has a rubber strip you can remove which reveals a cable with a connector on it that looks like something plugs into it, anyone know what this is?

It's a redundant connection that's used for a microphone by the Bose system.
