Car hesitating after engine cleaning
I got into a mad cleaning fit with my new 156 1.8L the other day and decided the engine could do with a clean. Took a cloth with soapy water and washed down the engine.
Thought I was careful enough with the water but since then the car idles roughly and hesitates when I accelerate. At low revs it sputters aswell and nearly cuts out.
Having read a few posts on the forum I was planning to remove the 4 upper spark plugs and give them a spray with WD40 and perhaps disconnect the air filter.
Any other ideas. There are no warning lights so reckon the ECU should be ok.
Wish i'd read the forum before i got the cloth out.
The car has 66k on the clock so it needs spark plug change anyway so i'll start with cleaning them.
