drivers seat removal

hi; the only (!) thing spoiling my Alfa experience at the moment is a squeaky drivers seat, a not un-common problem judging by the amount of posts ! i`ve tried the usual "greasy remedies", all to no avail, so when i get the chance will try removing the seat & try to find the problem; is there anything i need to know about the electricle side of things, ie, is it ok to unplug the harness under the seat ? thanks.

Did this 2 weeks ago. Best bet is disconnect the battery (neg terminal) and let it drain for about 40 min or so, so the airbag ECU forgets its settings as such. Probably not essential but it'll be safer.

Then its four allen key bolts on the base, and one 17mm hex nut for the seat belt.

Check whether the leather has come out. It should be tucked tightly around the base and is held in by a hard plastic lip. If this has some give (which it shouldnt) will rub on the metal base.

Good luck.
