GT door frozen open

Bit of a strange one this. I've had doors frozen shut before, but this morning when I went out to my GT the passenger door opened fine, but it was so cold that the catch stayed open. So, when I shut the door it just bounced open again (and again, and again...).

In the end I had to improvise and put a strap through the inside handle and around the seat rail to hold the door shut on my drive to work. I couldn't close the door or lock the car until it thawed out.

I just wondered if this is common in cold weather, or if there is anything that could be done to prevent it? I've done a search but I couldn't find anything about it (lots of threads about door handles coming off, obviously).

I wonder if I'll need the strap again tomorrow?!

oil the catch on the side of the door this happens to all cars....oil doesnt freeze as easy as bare metal and moisture

oh lube the rubbers the glass touches with silicon too that will stop the glass sticking to it
