Please I'm not here to argue with you. I think we both hold a strong argument but you're simply stupid for not accepting different people can have different views.... AND WTF IT'S MY CAR!
Now, unless you have info on HID... be gone
You need to learn some civility m8. I've never accepted the argument that because everyone is entitled to their view that everyone else should respect it. Rascists have their views and they have their right to air them (I believe in free speech) but I also have the right to tell them they are full of **** (and most people would agree with me).
If a viewpoint is wrong then people have the right to point that out. If you are sore about that then you need to grow a thicker skin.
I've tried to be helpful. I've tried to be decent. I'll keep trying
Every post you have linked to relates to petrol, normally aspirated
cars. I conceded earlier that yes they are brilliant for those cars. Not disagreeing at all.
I'm only telling some straight facts that fancy 'cold air intake systems' are mere trinkets on turbo diesel cars
(especially ones that already have boring black plastic ones as standard) . By all means buy them but they are automotive bling that purport to be something more to stop the purchaser thinking they will be laughed at.
The air filter is a whole other matter, but you seem to be treating the two as the one thing. I put a K&N panel filter on my wife's Peugeot 206 HDi. No other changes. 90BHP standard, rolled up at just under 100 with it fitted!
Plus, fitting two modifications together and then attributing an 8bhp improvement to both of them is unscientific. For all anyone knows one on it's own could give 12BHP improvement but the two together you lose 4. I know of an expensive induction system made in California for Jaguar X-Types that eventually was taken off the market when it was demonstrated it actually lowered
peak BHP and torque.
Plus of course improvements aren't cumulative.
As for HIDs - I am sitting with a set of H7R and slimline ballasts (4300k, 35w for the record) which I never got round to fitting and I never will now as I'd like my car to pass it's next MOT
