156 v6 s reg power steering help !!!!

my power steering has gone very hard checked underneath car dumped pas fluid all over road under pass side took car to mate garage this morning had it up on ramps looks like it coming from pipes above steering rack is it possible to fix this without dropping subframe as really do not want to do this someone on here said you can take batt tray out and get to it this way is this true

Not sure but fixed mine using the PAS equivalent of Radweld! Had been leaking a whole reservoir's worth of fluid from the pipe under the front bumper and had paid three times to have the pipe changed/fixed.

Depends on how bad the leak is/how big the split in the pipe is but for 8 for the fluid fix-it, it's got to be worth a try....

If you do need to take the battery tray out its easy enough...remove battery, then undo the four 13mm bolts that hold the tray onto the inner wing - one of the ones nearest the front is under the tray - can be seen if you lift up the plastic liner on the base of the tray......

You'll probably need to unbolt the relays that are fitted to the tray.....
