Code key light
My Alfa 156 is causing huge intermittent problems on the non-starting front. My garage has had it for almost 3 out of the last 5 months. The yellow code key light intermittently fails to come on and the engine, of course, then does not start. I have never had a problem of the light coming on but not going off. All the wiring and connections everywhere remotely relevant inside the car and under the bonnet have been checked and found to be fine; the battery is new - everything appears perfect.
The garage's last resort was to replace the code key box but Alfa can no longer supply one. Does any one know if it is possible to permanently by-pass the box, which is presumably where the problem lies, and if so, how?
Any help would be much appreciated - I have now run out of options.
