Lastest update as of this morning is that the garage are quoting £1100 for removal of cylinder head, reconditioning of damage to cylinder head, new timing belt ket fitting and water pump alongside addtional labour costs.
The reason the auxilary belt failed and caused the damage was due to the bottom pulley being damaged so this also need to be fixed all part of the £1100 cost.
The other option mentioned by the garage was to fit a reconditioned cylinder head which they had in the garage but they have again quoted the same price £1100.
Personally, I think it is best i stick with my existing cylinder head and get that fixed. I have asked the garage the pros and cons for each option but they havent really come back with much.
What would anybody suggest on here?
Add on top the MOT is due in next couple of weeks and front brake discs and pads have been identified as needing replacing this is going to be an expensive month!
