Grounding cured by new tyres

Well not quite; but the difference is amazing. I got to 36,000 miles on my Michelin fronts (185/65 15 Energy XVE). The face of the tread still had 2mm but the inside edges were dangerous (I'm told all 156s wear the inside edges). Decided, with this life, I would put on the same (except they are now called XH1).
The transformation on speed humps is so much more than an extra 6mm of tread could deliver. I put it down to the side wall stiffness. Humps that I was down to 10MPH can now be taken at 20+. This is a real bonus in London driving.
So, if you have the same problem, change the tyres!

Re: Grounding cured by new tyres

I noticed this, but also changed my alloys from 16" to 17" at the same time and had a better ride quality on the new wheels where in actual fact it was little to do with the new wheels but more to do with the extra depth of tread
