156 Grille Badge Installation Tip...

Just a quick tip when installing the grille badge on the facelift 156. The strip the badge is attached to is made of (soft) black plastic, that keeps the three bolt heads captive that anchor the thing to the bonnet.

Tip: Before attempting to remove the old badge, soak the threads of the bolt and the nut in penetrating oil or WD40, as they will be cruddy and full of rust as a result of their position at the front of the car. If you don't, what will happen when you clap your big 8mm socket on them and long ratchet, is the heads will cheese through the plastic, rotate and no longer be captive - so the nut-and-bolt combo will just rotate together and not unscrew!

...just my 2p worthhaving had this happen to me!!
