Intermittent wipe interval adjustment

Hi everybody!

I've got an '06 147 JTD - second I've had, and the 6th Alfa! Yes, I've got it bad!

Now, I don't know how the rain works in Italy, but the intermittent wipe speeds are pants! I can't say it's only on the Alfas as I've known other makes to be as bad:

The fastest 2 settings are pointless - you may as well have the wipers on normal speed, and the slowest is still not nearly slow enough, squeaking its way across the screen with anything but a serious amount of drizzle.

Does anyone know of a way to alter the timing? Is it ECU based and alterable via software or would I have to rip the relay apart?

Many thanks.

Hi Dave,

No, you misunderstand. I'm not reporting a fault; merely stating how the car comes from the factory.

The delays between wipes are too short and I want to know if they can be altered, either by reprogramming the ECU or physically changing parts elsewhere, say in the control relay.
