156 18" wheel offset

hi, i've seen a set of 18" x 8 alloys with 225 40 tyres, what offset woul i need to make these work,
with the stock 17" ti alloys on 215 45 17 tyres i have about 12mm clearence between tyre and hub upright on the front.
not sure what offset the ti wheels are but as they are 7" wide and the 18's are 8" i need to gain a few mm's. so if the ti ones are 40mm i'd need about 35mm offset to still give me some room?

many thanks Adam

I used to have 18x7.5" +38mm wheels, 225/40 tyres, and no rub under normal circumstance. Tiny bit of scrub at the rear under extreme suspension compression, and front outer edge if turning tightly into a steep upward driveway; basically, nothing that concerned me.

If you are giong with 8" wide wheels, you could be ok within a range from +38 to say +48mm.

I think the wheel arches in the GT are more open, like a 147GTA, but I have 19x8.5" wheels +35mm on my GT and they fit fine.
