The 2.4 JTD engine is one of the best if not the best around IMHO. I tend to find that once your moving you only use 4+5+6 gears. The biggest problem I find is limiting your speed, the speed builds so quickly, smoothly and quietly you don't know your in 3 figures until your fighting with the car going around a sharp bend (could be due to the fact I can't see the bends in time at night because of the crap high beam
Climate control - a very good system now I've figured it out and learnt
to leave it alone.
Windscreen Wipers - Alfa original fit front were useless
Have now fitted Bosch blades at front, clear sweep every time unless in REALLY strong cross winds at +90mph, rear only available from Alfa still judders on return stroke from about midway point.
Build quality - I had a Y reg selespeed SW before and I think it was bolted together a lot better, already I have more rattles and squeeks than the 3 yr old car. Trim seems flimsier and as mentioned in earlier posts the spare wheel cover is now just a thin plastic/carpet thing, not the moulded plastic of earlier models. Fuse box cover by drivers right leg fell off on both cars, so I was ready for that.
Would I buy another one ? At present YES, I'll let you know in 3 years time, who knows Alfa may have put the 2.4JTD in a GT Sportswagon
