According to FES, the actual air quantity does not reach that required. When the engine is at steady revs or even when accelerating gently it's OK, but when I boot it the difference is marked, 1200 vs 550 or so. The maximum actual air quantity on a test run was 665. I have still been getting error code P1238 - Low Air Quantity 2. The EGR has been cleaned and VNT hoses replaced.
The EGR solenoid seems to be OK, it was certainly very easy to move and looks OK when tested. One thing I did notice was the EGR duty cycle seems to stick at 1% or 100% for long periods. On the test for 900 seconds it was at 1% for 600 seconds and 100% for 200 seconds and without changing the revs it went from 100% to 1%. That doesn't seem correct.
