Hi chaps, after a bit of advice.
I had an Alfa Sportwagon (156) and it was a brilliant car with the exception of the squeaky front wishbones.
I was forever replacing them, one at a time.
I sold this car on last year, and now have an Alfa GT which I bought with 17k miles on the clock and again has been brilliant, just the stiff notch clutch, but this forum helped me sort that out by dribbling gear oil down the clutch arm....great fix!
Anyway, the GT has hit 30k miles now and the nearside is squeaing and clunking over potholes. I am going to have this car for many years so I want to sort this annoying issue now, by replacing all the wishbones at once.
Now, what is the best route to go?
I can either replace them with a set off ebay for about £200
Replace them with a genuine set (I think the are cr@p anyway)
or have mine re bushed with something longer lasting.
Now, from my rallying days, I suppose I could have polybushes fitted to my existing wishbones and forget about it for 100k miles, but I don't want to ruin the ride quality.
What do you guys suggest?
